Directors

Shalette East PhD Student - Shalette was educated at The University of Technology (UTECH) - Jamaica, The University of the West Indies - Mona, and Nova Southeastern University, Florida. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Computing Technology in Education at Nova Southeastern University where she holds the prestigious title of "Student of the Year" for the Graduate School of Computing and Information Science (GSCIS) for 2009. Her professional experiences include, Academic Advisor at Keiser University in the USA, MBA Programme Manager Assistant at Nova Southeastern University, Facilitator Consultant at Management Institute for National Development (MIND) - Jamaica, IT Lecturer at University College of the Caribbean - Jamaica, INFOSERV Institute of Technology - Jamaica and the University Hospital of the West Indies.

Denton East PhD Student - Denton holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from Florida Institute of Technology. He has also completed studies at IBM and numerous training institutes in Singapore, Jamaica and the United States. Denton has performed duties as IT Manager, Lead Software Architect, and Web Developer. Denton is currently pursuing a PHD in Computer Science. Shalette and Denton are the recipients of the 2008 Jamaica National Innovation Award for Education.


Associates

Dr. Leahcim Semaj - Dr. Leahcim Semaj is a Change Agent who has been committed to constructive engagement with individuals and companies across all major sectors in Jamaica and the Caribbean for the past fifteen (15) years. He has worked with the Guidance & Counselling Unit of the Ministry of Education & Youth to provide Behaviour & Attitude Adjustment programmes for high school boys on the verge of expulsion helping them with Anger Management and to understand the options available in the world around them. Dr. Semaj has taught at the University of the West Indies, Mona; and at Rutgers and at Cornell University in the USA. He has been a newspaper columnist, a radio show presenter and television host. He was included in Peter Ferguson’s publication, CHANGE MAKERS as one of the 101 men who have helped to define modern day Jamaica.


Dr. Gilbert Morris - Dr. Morris is a legal scholar, economist, government advisor, author and publisher. Dr. Morris studied varied subjects including law, theology, political science, and philosophy at Oxford Brookes University, Harvard University Extension School, Institute for British and Irish Studies (IBIS) at Mansfield College at Oxford University, and the London School of Economics.


Reviewers

Dr. Margaret H. Bailey is an experienced educator with twenty five years of teaching Experience at the Primary and University levels. She is presently Principal of Rollington Town Primary School. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Educational Psychology, A Masters of Education Degree in Educational Psychology and Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of the West Indies, Mona. Dr. Bailey is a Social Studies Expert and is the author of the GSAT Social studies in the Jamaica Observer and has edited and co authored other books for use at the Primary level. She is a judge on the popular TVJ Junior School Challenge quiz.


Molly Russell MSc is an experienced educator and Language Arts specialist for almost three decades. She is presently working with the Ministry of Education as an Education Officer. She holds a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology and Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of the West Indies, Mona. She is author of the GSAT Language Arts and Communication Task in The Jamaica Observer. She has also co-authored other books for use at the GSAT level.


Marcia A Scarlett M.A.E is an experienced teacher for almost three decades. She is presently Vice Principal at Rollington Town Primary School. She holds a Masters of Arts Degree in English Language and a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Language, Communication & Society, from The University of the West Indies, Mona.


Doreth McFarlane is an experienced Senior Teacher at Denham Town Primary School. She is a highly recognized Science Specialist. She has led her school to be the winner of numerous science awards locally and internationally. She recently won the Musgrave Bronze Award for her contribution to Science Education. She is the author of the GSAT series and a Judge on the popular TVJ Junior School Challenge Quiz.


Rosetta Phillips is a Senior Teacher at Rollington Town Primary School with almost three decades of Teaching Experience. She is an experience GSAT teacher and is presently the coordinator of Grade six at Rollington Town Primary School. She holds a Diploma in Primary Education from The Mico Teachers' College.
